This is what a perfect food day looks like
If you love food, the idea of your “Perfect Food Day” will be enchanting.
I first heard of the idea on the Spilled Milk Podcast (which is awesome, btw!)
The question was:
If you had a perfect food day, what would you eat and drink for breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner, and dessert?
Fantasizing about this day got me EXCITED. Your choices need to be a specific dish (not a general restaurant.)
It’s almost impossible to narrow it down, but here’s what I came up with. I’d need a private jet to complete this mission. But I would die to be able to eat all of this in one day.
Breakfast:
Bacon and Brisket Hash with Kale and Apple and Fried Egg and Toast from P’s and Q’s market in Portland. With a latte from Blue Bottle coffee.
Snack:
Shanghai pork and crab soup dumplings at Joe Ginger’s in NYC. With hot tea.
Lunch:
Ferdi Po’Boy at Mother’s in New Orleans. A sandwich filled with ham, roast beef, debris (crunchy burnt bits of roast beef) and dipped in gravy. Sinfully unhealthy. But one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten, and I have dreamed of eating it again for years.
Dinner:
One of these lamb tagine’s from 404 restaurant in Paris. This is one of those perfect dishes I had years ago I will never forget. Hard to say if this place is still as good as the memory. But I would like it with a Bueno cocktail (jalapeno tequila, yellow chartreuse, lime) from Temple Bar in NYC.
Dessert:
Panna Cotta with Passion Fruit and Sables (unsure where to have this so I would probably make it myself. But panna cotta is my favorite dessert of all time.)
Now it’s your turn.
What would YOU eat on your perfect food day?
